Art Deco Platinum Marquise Sapphire and Diamond Ring

This luxurious looking engagement or dinner ring is centered with a natural nevette cut blue sapphire of the richest hue. The gorgeous sapphire is held by 6 platinum prongs and weighs 207/100 carats. The mounting is additionally graced by 28 single cut diamonds with a total approximate weight of 35/100 carat, as well as 2 marquise cut diamonds with a total approximate weight for an additional 22/100 carat. The diamonds are expertly pave set in a handmade platinum mounting dating back to the 1920's, but showing little sign of wear. The vintage mounting is finished beautifully with millgrained details throughout. The inside of the shank contains two small sizing posts which were used to keep the ring from turning on the finger.

This ring bespeaks quality of gems as well as craftsmanship. It is a real showstopper, and yet, is as understated as it gets, with a total weight of 2.66 carats.
