Antique 18 Karat Yellow Gold Lapis Lazuli Necklace

This stunning antique 18 karat yellow gold lapis lazuli necklace is a one-of-a-kind piece. Set with three fine Russian lapis lazuli which were mined in Afghanistan, the necklace is made entirely by hand with a granulated gold and floral filigree motif.

The center of the necklace is set with a round lapis button measuring 10.5 millimeters. The two pendant sections terminate in teardrop shaped fine lapis, each measuring 17 millimeters by 8.5 millimeters. The lapis drops are highlighted with subtle flecks of golden pyrite running through them. The entire piece is delicate in appearance yet very substantial in weight.

The necklace measures 16.5 inches. The chain terminates with a handmade toggle closure which is highlighted with gold wire wrapping. Although this piece is over 100 years old, it is reminiscent of the much older designs of the Renaissance.
