A stunning jewel, this antique cat's eye chrysoberyl and diamond ring is a true piece of history. Handmade well over a century ago (circa 1900), this two tone ring is hand constructed of 14 karat yellow gold with a 14 karat white gold top.
The ring gracefully swirls around the finger and is prong set at its center with an unusual gem; a fine oval cat's eye chrysoberyl. Known in the time of this ring's making as "chrysolite", chrysoberyl with chatoyancy (the cat's eye effect) such as this one is highly prized. This gem measures 7 millimeters by 5 millimeters and weighs approximately 1 1/2 carat.
The chrysoberyl is accompanied by 14 old European cut diamonds of various sizes. The diamonds are white, bright, and of very high clarity. The total weight of all 14 diamonds is just under 3/4 carat.
A truly one of a kind vintage piece, this ring would make for an exceptional alternative engagement ring.
This ring is currently a size 4 1/4 but could be sized to fit you comfortably.
